Best of 2011: Film

CultureCritic | 19.December.2011 | 15:56
2011: a year that has seen riots, recessions and the doom-tinged ravings of many an Evangelical Christian. We can therefore forgive Hollywood relinquishing its duty toward entertaining and instead serving up visions of death by plague, sensory deprivation and the odd rogue planet. Not that you would know from the Critometer's best rated movies; school shootings aside, our top 10 is a serene and stately place. Art documentaries rub shoulders with sedentary spies while stuttering kings brush up against adolescent wizards. And if the fact half these films are adaptions of other people's work bothers you, console yourself with Inside Job, a story no one could make up...
