Upcoming theatre to get your teeth into this Halloween comes courtesy of Norway's TR Warszawa, with Nosferatu at the Barbican in London (pictured below). Trust those Scandinavians to be all dark and dramatic...

Equally dark, but in a Deep South way (and with a very nice poster indeed) is the Tennesee Williams revival in Manchester opening soon, with Imogen Stubbs in the lead... 

Sheffield's revival of the season is kitchen sink classic A Taste of Honey, kicking back to 1960s deprivation and doing so with the aid of a live jazz trio. Sounds delectable...  

The Courtauld in London have come up trumps again with a neat display of lesser-known historical works, this time by Peter Lely, who was famed for his portraits but loved painting nudy nymphs and other mythological titillations...

The rambunctious US author T.C. Boyle has divided critics right down the line with his new book set on a Californian island: ‘Should be epic... but Boyle scatters his plot like so many grains' sniffs the Guardian; but Publishers Weekly are adamant it is an ‘epic saga of struggle, loss, and resilience'. Hum...
