The Apartment

Released: 15/06/2012 Released in key cities
Billy Wilder’s classic, starring Jack Lemmon as insurance statistician CC Baxter who lets colleagues use his flat for meeting women, was a huge hit when first released in 1960.  It earned five Oscars that year, including Best Picture, and served to inspire Mad Men. Shirley MacLaine as the fly-in-the-ointment love interest is particularly good. Catch it restored in cinemas. Guardian“A big-city satire with a romantic heart of gold...” it's a welcome re-release, and for those who love the style of Mad Men, or Richard Yates's 1961 novel Revolutionary Road, it's a must...
