LIFF’s finale, Armour, from Cannes darling Michael Haneke, adeptly reveals the festival’s intent to bring international talent to the fore. Expect the odd high-profiler, along with a fresh screening of 2001: A Space Odyssey, but the bulk of the programme champions largely unrecognised masterminds of cult, documentary and shorts from all continents.
