Goldsmith Veit Pogner sets up a singing contest, in which the prize is his daughter Eve's hand in marriage. Eve's lover, Walther, is forced to compete with the Nuremberg Mastersingers - cultured craftsmen - in Wagner's opera of love, jealousy and German craftsmanship; sure to get you in the mood for some hot glühwein.
