From Greek myth to Shakespeare, Wagner drew inspiration for Die Walküre from a melting pot of highbrow cultural references. The second of four operas that forms perhaps his most famous work, The Ring Cycle, it also includes one of his most famous excerpts, The Ride of the Valkyries. This production is staged in various venues across the north of England.
