ROH - Don Giovanni
Opens: 21/01/2012 Closes: 03/02/2012
Royal Opera House, London
As part of the Royal Opera House's celebration of the collaborations between Mozart and librettist Lorenzo Da Ponte, they revive their 1992 production of Don Giovanni directed by Francesca Zambello. The classic opera focuses a dastardly and unrepentant womanizer, rapist and murderer. So, bit of a nasty chap, really.

.
Guardian“A problematic piece of theatre...” On the plus side, we have Gerzmava, who sings with laser-like accuracy, Lorenzo Regazzo's funny, embittered Leporello, and a forceful, strikingly handsome Masetto from Adam Plachetka...
.
The Independent“Distinctive vocal colours but only patchy accomplishment...” Gerald Finley and Lorenzo Regazzo – Don Giovanni and Leporello – did the business but the business, especially the comedy, felt over-egged, even desperate at times...
