Royal Ballet - The Nutcracker
Opens: 03/12/2011 Closes: 18/01/2012
ROH, London.
Sir Peter Wright is popping up like Santa this Christmas. The Royal Ballet stage his 1984 Nutcracker, while the Birmingham Royal Ballet go for the 1990 update, creating a difficult choice for ballet-goers. Come to this one if you want to avoid anything Freudian and simply visit a Kingdom of Marzipan.

.
London Dance“No better way to begin the festivities...” This performance was seen by many little girls who were pirouetting with joy on their way home. Some may become dancers and when asked about their inspiration it will no doubt be attributed to this most radiant performance by Marianela Nuñez.
.
The Arts Desk“A special Christmas treat...” Both acts now work more harmoniously and the silence from the children in the audience even during the long danced segments proved the strength of his production...
