The Mariinsky end their celebratory season with a third Marius Petipa ballet, transporting the audience to India, where a temple dancer falls tragically in love with a famed warrior. With a score by Ludwig Minkus, the ballet contains two choreographic gems in the dance of the Bronze Idol and The Kingdom of the Shades.
