Di & Viv & Rose
Opens: 17/01/2013 Closes: 23/02/2013
Hampstead Theatre, London
Amelia Bullmore has many strings to her bow. Her acting credits include five years in Corrie and a turn as Alan Partridge’s Ukranian girlfriend, and she’s penned episodes of the cult TV series This Life, while her first play Mammals won awards in 2005. Her latest drama (which sold out the Hampstead downstairs last year) follows three friends at uni, and stars Gina Mckee.

The Telegraph“There is a mixture of warmth, humour and sadness...” Anna Mackmin directs a sharply observed, richly enjoyable production, elegantly staged and mixing laughter with sudden jolts of pain and loss. The cast is also outstanding...
.
Guardian“It's a play that, whatever its flaws, is impossible not to like...” It connects emotionally with the audience, and is wittily written and vividly performed. I have my own reservations, but I suspect they will be blown away by the piece's march towards popularity...
.
Exeunt“Bullmore blends comedy and tragedy uncommonly well...” Eminently likable and imbued with warmth, it’s very easy to imagine a further life for this gem of a play that would be well deserving of a transfer to a small West End theatre...
.
The Stage“Anna Mackim’s production benefits from some superb performances...” While the big twist is fairly predictable - this might have been a subtler and more intriguing piece without it - it’s also incredibly heart-wrenching, flooring the audience...
.
The Arts Desk“Director Anna Mackmin doesn’t put a foot wrong...” Quickly grows into a deeply felt account of female friendship. It’s written with a remarkable economy and freshness, and rings true even, or especially, in its moments of absurdity...
.
Whatsonstage.com“Sharp and funny...” Almost everything that is said or happens in the play rings horribly and hilariously true....
